You may already hold a full licence to drive a car in another country, but need a UK license, in which case a few lessons will help you to understand the UK process. Sometimes a driver who has passed their test and for whatever reason has not driven since may want to refresh their driving skills and regain their confidence, safe in the knowledge that they are using a dual controlled vehicle. It may be that something has caused someone to lose their confidence for one reason or another - for example, some incident or another has put them off. It should only take a few hours to get your confidence back, then you'll be on the move again.
It is well known that people who have just passed a driving test are at much higher risk of accidents than more experienced drivers. The statistic that is often quoted is that in the first six months of driving, one driver in five is involved in an accident. As a measure to tackle this, the Driver Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has introduced Pass Plus - a group of six modules aimed to develop the skills of new drivers. Details of the scheme can be found on the Pass Plus website. This initiative is backed by some insurance companies and can give discounts greater than the cost of the Pass Plus course (or offer to pay for some of it), particularly for new (those who have passed their test less than 12 months ago) and young drivers. We are both registered to teach Pass Plus.
